A graduate of Toronto's prestigious Osgoode Hall Law School, he was called to the Ontario Bar in 1998 and began his legal career at a respected law firm defending large insurance companies. He became a partner at that firm in 2004. Known as a passionate, exceptionally well prepared advocate, he argues cases at all levels of Court in Ontario.

While defending insurance companies, Ryan handled many complex cases and developed several leading Ontario Court of Appeal cases. Insurance companies routinely turned to him to handle legal matters where they faced significant exposure. Conversely, he also acted for injured Plaintiffs, suing insurance companies. He developed a significant Plaintiff's practice and finding this work more personally fulfilling, he decided to make it his focus.

Ryan's 20 years of experience defending insurance companies has made him a unique expert in his field with tremendous insight into the insurance claim process and how insurance companies operate. Since employer's are not always sympathetic towards employees being off work following an accident, Ryan also guides his clients on employment related issues and can expertly handle wrongful dismissal cases, achieving just and significant results.
